United Public Dispatch

Editorial policy

United Public Dispatch aims to make public information easier to read without overstating what a document proves. Our editors favour precise wording, visible limits and useful corrections over certainty for its own sake.

Accuracy and clarity

We check that explanations match the documents and examples discussed, use plain language and distinguish quoted wording from our own interpretation. Where a process may vary by institution or location, we say so rather than presenting one procedure as universal. Articles are explanatory and are not a substitute for an issuing body's own instructions.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for reader understanding. A partner relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or editorial approval. If a relevant interest could affect how a piece is understood, we disclose it with the material.

Corrections

If you spot an error, use the Contact page and identify the article and the wording at issue. We review correction requests, amend confirmed errors and make a clear note when a material change affects the meaning of a piece.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly labelled near the content so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that applies, the illustration is identified accordingly. Images are not evidence for a factual claim unless the article explains their relevance.

Our approach

A document is a tool, not the whole story

We read public-facing paperwork closely: what it asks, what it leaves unclear and what a reader can do next. A document can explain a process without settling every question.
